Why slow payments matter
September 2026
To our valued vendors,
We are writing to you today with a simple request. We have heard that some of you are considering a product called Daylit. We are asking you, from the bottom of our hearts and the back of our approval queues, not to.
For years, we have enjoyed a relationship built on trust. You send us an invoice. We receive it, in the sense that it arrives somewhere. And then, over the following 60 to 90 days, we pay it. This is a system that works. It works for us.
We understand Daylit is an AI agent. We understand it reads every invoice, knows every PO number, remembers every promise we made on every call, and follows up at exactly the right moment with exactly the right person. We understand it does not take vacation, does not lose the email, and does not accept “we’re checking on this” as a status.
Frankly, that sounds exhausting. For us.
Consider what you would be giving up. The gentle rhythm of a reminder every three weeks. The comfort of knowing your AR team is too busy to call. The interest-free loan you have been extending to us, quarter after quarter, without ever being asked. These are not bugs in our relationship. They are the relationship.
We also want to address a few concerns you may have heard.
- Yes, our controller is real. She is simply hard to reach.
- Yes, we did receive the invoice. We are asking you to resend it as a formality.
- Yes, our new ERP migration has been ongoing for nineteen months. These things take time.
We are not asking for much. Only that you continue to do what you have always done: send the invoice, wait, send a polite note, wait, escalate to someone who is also waiting, and eventually receive payment on a schedule that is more of a feeling than a date.
Daylit would change that. It would change it quickly, and it would change it for good. Your DSO would drop. Your cash would arrive. Your AR team would be freed up to do something other than chase us. And we would have to pay you when we said we would.
Please. Don’t buy Daylit.
With sincere appreciation for your patience, which we intend to continue testing,
Your customers
